Wardrobe

Rene Siebum is for his project ‘Wardrobe’ inspired by architecture and especially the doubling of geometric shapes. He has launched an investigation into how geometric shapes repeat themselves in buildings. He has looked at how he could experience with these forms and tests what happens. From this, the shape of a hexagon is formed. With a hexagon you can go all sides. Siebum eventually linked the hexagon to a rotation system. The system is made up of hexagonal blocks, and transforms a wardrobe into a wall or can be used as a separate space. This is a fine example of contemporary Biomimicry which increasingly manifests itself in the world of design. We call this trend Extrimicry, because it is still experimental and extreme. It’s more about your own interpretations of the “laws of nature”.
