Lock8

Lock8 is the world’s first smart bike lock that can be operated with your smartphone. The keyless lock has a GPS tracker that helps users find their bicycles when they are either misplaced or stolen. It is sensitive to motion and temperature, and uses a gyro accelerometer to send push notifications to phones, which triggers a painfully loud alarm. It can send alerts to your family or the community, but also enables users to share the location and e-Key with friends who might need to borrow the bike.

Lock8 is in my opinion a solution for many bike problems. Cities are a danger to bicycles. Your bike breaks down or worse, gets stolen. Lock8 is a solution against stealing bicycles. There is an alarm on your phone if someone breaks open the lock and by GPS you can see exactly where your bike went. The possibility to rent a bike in big cities is growing. At different points in a city you can retrieve a bicycle. But be aware, the costs are very high if you don’t park your bike at the right place. The bicycle market now gets a new twist by Lock8. Renting a bike is no longer connected to fixed places or a key.
